Classic Imaging is a Division of Classic Cardiology that specializes in Nuclear Cardiology. In Classic Imaging special radioisotopes are utilized to detect cardiovascular disease. By combining computer technology and radioisotopes, images are created that reflect the coronary circulation at rest and at exercise. Images can also be created that provide information on direction of blood flow and cardiovascular physiological and mechanical function.The tests that are conducted in Classic Imaging assist Dr Nelson in risk stratification for the patient and can provide prognostic information for future cardiac events.

A patient should be prepared to spend several hours while visiting Classic Imaging because the tests done there are highly technical and involve interaction of the the physician and technologists with computers ,radioisotopes,exercise equipment,and heart monitoring devices. It is imperative to have a cooperative and calm patient in order to obtain accurate information during nuclear diagnostic testing. The information obtained at Classic Imaging is acquired with the patient dressed. The patient is capable of carrying on his normal daily activities immediately upon completion of the test in the majority of circumstances.
